When deciding on sprinkler irrigation you are looking for the following:
- High distribution uniformity (even amount of water distributed in the field)
- Low labour costs
- Low energy costs associated with pumping
- Low capital outlay
- Creation of a cool micro climate conducive for plant growth and germination.
All these outcomes are achieved when using our Solidset System. It uses low pressure flow sprinklers that are plugged onto LDPE polypipe. The piping and sprinkler remain in the field for the duration of the crop cycle and then can be removed easily to allow land preparation.
The only labour required is to open certain valves on and off so one person can operate a whole field. The sprinklers are designed to operate under low pressure so no big pump is needed and can be turned on for short periods of time to allowing for “cooling” to take place.
